The Mitsubishi Outlander Sport’s current generation has been around since 2010, which means it’s time for an upgrade. Mitsubishi will deliver it this fall with the 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, a revised model with new headlights and design elements that lend it a more modern feel.
The 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport takes design inspiration from the new Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, incorporating the sharper nose and exterior lights into a sleek profile for a more confident and aggressive style. Slimmer exterior lights add to the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport’s athletic vibe. LED lights and a skid plate flourish on the rear bumper add interest to the model as well.
There is currently no news on if the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport will be getting any new powertrain options. The outgoing model offers a 2.0-liter four-cylinder and a 2.4-liter four-cylinder with two transmission options: a five-speed manual or an available CVT. Considering the Outlander Sport shares a platform and, now, design elements with the Eclipse Cross, it’s possible the latter vehicle’s turbocharged 1.5-liter engine could get ported over, but that is speculation at best.
Inside the 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport’s cabin, the interior appears to pay more attention to detail and a more upscale feel, including chrome touches. Drivers will also find that the 7-inch touchscreen has been upgraded to an 8-inch touchscreen.
Mitsubishi is also offering available automatic emergency braking and new paint colors for the exterior. More information on the 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport’s powertrains, specs, and technology options will likely be available as the model draws nearer to its launch date. Until then, experts and enthusiasts alike are looking to the European Mitsubishi ASX for hints about the upcoming Outlander Sport.
The new model will be going on sale in the fall of 2019, though no exact date has been set yet. Contact us at Pantili Mitsubishi for more details.
